ABOUT ME:

I am an Asheville native and have enjoyed the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina for most of my life. I am a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School (later named Asheville High School). I attended Montreat College before earning a Bachelor of Education from East Tennessee State, Master of Education from Georgia State University, and Master in Public School Reading and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Carolina University. My peers recognized me twice as Teacher of the Year and I was recognized by WCU as Teacher of the Month in Buncombe County.

My husband and I currently reside in Weaverville, adjacent to Asheville. I have two adult children: a son who lives in downtown Asheville and daughter in New York City. In my leisure time, I enjoy cooking (love cooking classes), gardening, sewing, and collecting art from our vast array of talented local artists.
