EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
Commitment to My Clients
Real estate is more than buying and selling property—it is one of the most personal, impactful, and meaningful decisions a person or family will make. As my client, my commitment is that you will always feel well-informed, guided with clarity, and treated with honesty, kindness, and respect at every stage of the process. Whether you are selling a beloved home filled with memories or searching for your perfect new space, I want you to feel that you are not only supported but also truly understood.
Every client brings a unique story and a unique set of needs to the real estate process. My role is to meet you where you are, listen to your goals, and provide both professional expertise and personal care. I want you to feel confident that you have a trusted advisor who sees the big picture but also pays attention to every small detail that matters most to you. My focus is on creating a smooth, informed, and positive experience where you are empowered to make decisions with confidence.
A True Asheville Native
Having grown up in Asheville, I have been fortunate to witness the remarkable transformation of this area over the years. From its early days of a small, mountain town feel to today’s thriving cultural hub, Asheville has continued to expand, evolve, and reinvent itself while still holding onto its authentic charm.
Being an Asheville native is more than just a fact on a résumé—it is a lived experience that I bring to my work every day. I can share the history of the city, the traditions that have shaped its communities, and the exciting developments that make Asheville one of the most sought-after places to live today. My knowledge extends beyond the tourist attractions and well-known landmarks; I know the pulse of the neighborhoods, the nuances of local living, and the special hidden gems that make this area so beloved.
This deep-rooted connection to Asheville gives me the ability to help clients not just find a house, but to discover a home that reflects their lifestyle, values, and dreams. Whether you are drawn to the historic homes of Montford, the vibrant energy of downtown, the artsy spirit of the River Arts District, or the peaceful beauty of Weaverville, I will guide you with insight that only comes from being part of this community for a lifetime.
Guiding Buyers with Care
For buyers, my role goes far beyond simply showing properties. I take the time to understand your goals, priorities, and vision for the future. Each client is different—some are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood with excellent schools, others may want a downtown loft with walkability, while others are searching for mountain retreats with privacy and breathtaking views. My commitment is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and then provide options that align not only with your budget but also with your lifestyle.
I also recognize that moving to a new city or state can feel overwhelming. For those relocating to Asheville, I become both a real estate guide and a resource for acclimating to the community. From school districts to local healthcare, from the best hiking trails to where to find the freshest produce at farmers’ markets, I provide the insight you need to feel at home from day one. My goal is for you not only to purchase a property but to truly feel connected to the community you are joining.
For those moving within the area, I bring an understanding of how neighborhoods differ, where growth is happening, and what areas offer the best potential for future value. Because Asheville and the surrounding region continue to attract new residents, real estate here is dynamic and competitive. Having a trusted advisor who can anticipate opportunities and guide you with strategy is essential. I strive to be that advisor for every buyer I work with.
Supporting Sellers with Strategy and Integrity
For sellers, I provide a thoughtful, comprehensive approach designed to position your property for maximum visibility and value. Selling a home is a deeply personal experience, and I understand that it is not just a financial decision but also an emotional one. Whether you are downsizing, relocating, or transitioning to a new chapter of life, my goal is to honor the significance of this process while ensuring the best possible outcome.
My strategy includes careful preparation, targeted marketing, and professional representation every step of the way. From staging guidance to professional photography, from online exposure to leveraging my local network, I work to ensure your home is seen by the right audience. Pricing is key, and I provide data-driven analysis combined with local expertise to set a price that attracts buyers while protecting your investment.
Equally important is communication. I am dedicated to keeping you informed throughout the process, providing updates, feedback, and market insights so you always know where things stand. My aim is to minimize stress, eliminate uncertainty, and give you confidence that your property is being represented with excellence.
From Educator to Real Estate Professional
Before my real estate career, I spent 35 years as an educator. Teaching shaped me in ways that directly benefit my clients today. Education taught me patience, attention to detail, and the ability to guide others through complex material in a clear and understandable way. These skills translate seamlessly into real estate, where clients rely on me to explain contracts, navigate negotiations, and provide clarity on one of the largest financial transactions of their lives.
As an educator, I was recognized twice as Teacher of the Year and honored by Western Carolina University as Teacher of the Month for Buncombe County. These recognitions reflect the values I carry into my work as a real estate professional: dedication, collaboration, and a deep care for the people I serve.
My approach to real estate is informed by these years of service. Just as I once guided students toward knowledge and achievement, I now guide clients toward fulfilling their real estate goals. I believe in creating a partnership built on trust, respect, and mutual understanding. Every transaction is unique, and my background in education equips me with the tools to adapt, problem-solve, and advocate for my clients with skill and confidence.
A Philosophy of Service
At the heart of my work is a philosophy of service. Real estate is not about pushing sales—it is about listening, understanding, and providing the resources and support that allow clients to achieve their dreams. Whether working with first-time buyers, seasoned investors, or families preparing to sell a generational home, I approach each situation with dedication and compassion.
Clients often describe me as responsive, energetic, and thorough. These qualities are not just part of my professional style; they are part of who I am. I believe that integrity is non-negotiable, and I strive to always act with transparency and fairness. My goal is for every client to look back on their real estate journey with me and feel that they were truly cared for and represented with excellence.
ABOUT ME
Personal Background
I am proud to call Asheville my lifelong home. Growing up here, I developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty, cultural richness, and strong sense of community that define Western North Carolina. I graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School, which later became Asheville High School, before continuing my education at Montreat College. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Education from East Tennessee State University, followed by a Master of Education from Georgia State University. My love for learning also led me to earn additional graduate degrees from Western Carolina University, including a Master in Public School Reading and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
My academic journey reflects my belief in the power of education and lifelong learning—a belief that continues to shape how I approach real estate today. Knowledge is empowering, and I strive to provide my clients with the information, insight, and resources they need to make confident and informed decisions.
Family and Community Life
My husband and I make our home in Weaverville, just a short drive from Asheville. Weaverville offers the charm of a small town with easy access to the amenities of the city, making it an ideal place for us to live. Family is central to my life. I have two adult children who continue to inspire me in their own journeys. My son resides in downtown Asheville, fully embracing the vibrant lifestyle of the city, while my daughter is based in New York City, pursuing her career in one of the world’s most dynamic urban centers.
I value the balance between rootedness and exploration—cherishing my deep roots here in Western North Carolina while celebrating the paths my children have carved for themselves. This perspective allows me to connect with clients at various life stages, from young professionals seeking their first home to retirees looking for their next chapter.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of real estate, I enjoy a variety of hobbies that enrich my life and connect me with others. Cooking is one of my greatest passions. I love exploring new flavors, experimenting with recipes, and even attending cooking classes to refine my skills. Cooking is, for me, both creative and nurturing—an expression of love and hospitality.
Gardening is another joy. There is something deeply grounding about working with the earth, cultivating beauty, and seeing the results of patience and care. I also enjoy sewing, a craft that combines creativity with precision, much like real estate itself. Additionally, I have a deep appreciation for art and enjoy collecting works from Asheville’s many talented local artists. Supporting local art not only brings beauty into my home but also strengthens the cultural fabric of our community.
Why I Love What I Do
Real estate allows me to combine my love for people, my knowledge of Asheville, and my commitment to service into one fulfilling career. Each day, I have the privilege of helping clients make life-changing decisions—decisions that bring them closer to their dreams. Whether it is celebrating with a first-time homebuyer, guiding a family to the perfect neighborhood, or helping a seller transition to their next chapter, I am honored to play a role in these important moments.
My work is more than a profession; it is a calling. I believe in the power of home—the stability, comfort, and sense of belonging it provides. Helping others find or sell a home is not just about transactions; it is about relationships, trust, and the joy of making a difference in people’s lives.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Choosing the right real estate agent is one of the most important decisions you will make in your buying or selling journey. My experience as a lifelong Asheville resident, my 35 years as an educator, and my passion for serving people all combine to create a unique approach that balances professional expertise with personal care.
I hope you will allow me to be your partner in this journey. Together, we can navigate the market, discover opportunities, and achieve your real estate goals with confidence. Whether you are selling your current home or buying your dream property, I will be honored to serve as your trusted advisor, advocate, and guide.
